Guadalajara – Teatro Degollado

Hard to miss, is this massive theatre in the centre of town. It’s magnificent building, on the inside and the outside. It houses the local Philharmonic Orachestra and various concerts though the year. Best of all, you can poke your head inside and have a look.

For free, you’re allowed into the foyer to have a bit of a look. IT’s a very elegant building. All marble, statues and style. The central feature is a rather grand chandelier hanging from a very grand glass roof window. Very stylish.

Unfortunately, you can’t actually go into the actual theatre itself without seeing a performance. I’ve seen pictures though and it does look rather grand. It’s very reminiscent of the Theatro Rialto in Milan.

Attached to the theatre, is a nice cafe, which is great for a snack and to sit and watch the day go past.

As it’s right in the centre of town, everyone should pop in and have a look at the theatre. It’s nice!
