Indonesia - Hyatt Regency Hotel Yogyakarta

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Yogyakarta. It's nice. Very nice. The whole hotel is built in the style of Borobudur. It sits right next to a gold course and has grand sweeping views over the countryside to Mount Merapi, the active volcano nearby. You can see the smoke rising from the volcano, but that's the only drama in the hotel.

The staff are amazingly friendly and willing to help. The front desk was able to quickly organise my car to go to Borobudur, as well as a taxi back to Solo. The breakfast is quite nice and the rooms were well maintained and luxurious.

Oh, did I mention there's a really nice pool area with a water slide? Awesome!

A few people in town mentioned this was the best hotel to stay at in Yogyakarta and I can see why. It's really nice. In such a busy, crowded, dirty place like Yogyakarta, it's essential to have a quiet retreat to return to each day. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.
