Norway is a very interesting place. They've chosen not to join the EU because they want to carry on hunting whales and whatever else they feel like doing. With huge oil reserves, they can please themselves.
The cities in southern Norway is where most of the population lives. They're quite pleasant places, but not a huge amount of attractions to see. Not to be missed, is the Vigeland park in Oslo. It's the life work of a local artist Gustav Vigeland. There's an enormous number of life size and bigger nude figures. It's simply stunning.
Another great thing to do in Norway is the train trip between Oslo and Bergen. It pretty much takes all day, but along the way is some spectacular scenery. The train passes over the mountain range that forms the spine of the country, so there's as many moujntains and snow as you can handle. In peak season, you can combine the train trip with a cruise through the fjords which drops you at Bergen.
