This is always a source of controversy. What counts as a "country" in terms of adding them up. Some people resort to the list of ISO country codes. In that case, Gibraltar (GI), qualifies. On the other hand, it's directly ruled from Britain, so maybe it doesn't. Make you're own mind up, I'm counting it!
Gibraltar is an odd place. It's full of people pretending to be British! It also acts as a haven of Britishness for Brits holidaying nearby in Spain. Catching the gondola to the top of the rock is quite an experience, as as the monkeys on top. I stayed for a few hours, which was probably all it required.
An interesting feature is that the runway for the city crosses the road into town. When the runway is in operation, the road is shut. I nearly got stuck in the middle of the road as a plane was landing!
