#3 Malaysia

My first trip to Malaysia was in 1997. When I was working in Singapore, I popped over to Malaysia for a long weekend. I went with a group of people to Pulau Tioman - an idyllic tropical paradise off the east coast of the Malasyian peninsular. Very beautiful.

I've been back quite a few times since. I went on a day trip up to Melaka to have a look around on a stop over to Singapore. A few years later, I headed up to Kuala Lumpur (KL) for a look see. The Malaysians are desperately trying to emulate the successful industrialisation of Singapore, but they haven't quite got there...
