#48 Macau

Macau is another city that surprised me. You often here it described as dull, tiny and pointless. I couldn't disagree more. Sure, the central tourist area is pretty dire, but if you explore the old colonial parts, it's really quite interesting. You can definitely feel the Portuguese vibe. Some of the side streets look as if they've been dropped from a great height from Lisbon.

Macau is just about to go casino crazy. When i was there, they were just finishing up the Sands casino. It's massively huge and there are plans for a lot more. I think this city is going to get a lot busier, fast!
