I made a flying visit to Warsaw one weekend. It really surprised me. I had in my mind a dirty, industrial city lacking charm or interest. I was very wrong. Sure, there are industrial parts, but there's also a very charming old town. Much of it has been rebuilt, but it feels old. I was also surprised by the sodding great Stalinist tower in the middle of town. It's surprisingly elegant. There's also great views from the top. Definitely worth a visit.
