#39 Hungary

Like most people, I've just been to Budapest. It's a very interesting place. Like other Eastern European countries, it's slowly awakening from years of communist slumber. The place is starting to tart itself up to its former Imperial glory. The place is just packed with amazing buildings. A highlight is the Fisherman's Bastion on one side of the city. Very charming, with great views back to the city.

You should also try out a Turkish bath. The Gellert baths are the most tourist friendly. Also interesting, is the monument park just out of town. After the fall of communism, all the monumental communist statues were plucked out of the city and re-erected in a park. It's interesting to see them all in one place whilst stirring communist music plays over the speakers.
