Penang - Clock Tower

Another unmissable sight in Penang is the Clock Tower. It was built in 1897 to mark Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. It's 60 feet high - one for each year. It's big, it's got a clock at the top and it's next to Fort Cornwallis. You can't miss it.

It is quite grand, but you could almost just drive past it and see all there is to see. It is useful though, as it does point you towards the interesting parts of Georgetown once you leave Fort Cornwallis. Keep heading up the main street and all the interesting buildings are past the HSBC and Standard Chartered Buildings.
